Looking Forward to a New Year

“LOOKING FORWARD TO A NEW YEAR”

In two weeks, we will begin a new year. As we come to the end of 2021, it is a time to reflect upon our service to God this past year and look forward to the new year and the many promises that it holds for each of us.

As individual Christians, we should examine our service to the Lord and to His church over the last twelve months. We should look to see if we have grown in our knowledge of the Scriptures. We should examine ourselves to see if our prayer life has matured. We should reflect upon our attendance at all meetings of the church. We should ask ourselves if we have become closer to God over the last year or have drifted further and further away from Him. The bottom line is that we need to know that our service to God is stronger now than it was at the beginning of 2021. Our theme this past year was taken from Psalm 85:6 where we read, “Will You not revive us again?”  Have you revived yourself as a Christian or not?

As a church, we are planning for a new theme in 2022. We are looking forward to new Bible studies and new ways to serve the Lord. We are planning opportunities for you to study God’s Word and learn from it. We are offering classes on Sunday morning based on the Gospels. These will be textual studies taken from the Word of God.  We are offering a study of the Gospel of Matthew during the first quarter. Studies of Mark, Luke, and John will follow during the remainder of the year. Classes on topical studies will be our focus on Wednesday evenings. The classes will include a study of “When I Die,” “Overcoming Adversity and Tragedy,” “The Basics of Righteousness,” and “Simple Scenes from the Life of Jesus”.  We will offer a class on “Following the Messiah” on Friday mornings. Our ladies and men will continue their monthly Bible classes and subjects will be chosen soon.  We will also have our Spring and Fall Gospel meetings, our VBS in June, and our annual singing in late July. We plan to begin Personal Work Groups soon.

Opportunities to grow and mature in God’s Word are afforded to each of you as the new year begins. Will you take advantage of these studies? Come and study and learn God’s Word with us as we enter the new year of 2022. We look forward to seeing you at these services.
